Vinyes d’Olivardots has 10 hectares of vineyard owned:
The 4 hectares that are located within the estate were planted in 2002 with Garnacha tinta, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon, and subsequently, in the search for native varieties, 3 more hectares of old Cariñena vines between 50 and 100 years old were acquired.

Born from a passion for the world of wine, Carme Casacuberta, a graduate in chemical sciences and winemaker, along with her husband Antoni Pena, an industrial engineer, both passionate about wine, in love with nature, and driven by enthusiasm, started their dream project in 2002 in Capmany (Alt Empordà): to produce great wines with the utmost expression of their terroir.

Ten years later, at the beginning of 2016, a new generation joins the project, her daughter Carlota Pena. Another female winemaker and passionate about the vineyard and wine who will bring new ideas close to biodynamics and the natural style in favor of this exciting family project.

Placing itself as one of the best wine projects in Catalonia in recent years.

In 2010, the estates of the white varieties, garnacha blanca, garnacha rosada, and cariñena blanca, all of which are native varieties of Empordà, aged between 90 and 120 years, were incorporated.

The vines grow in the different types of soils that we can find in the Empordà, highlighting the granitic, acidic, and low organic matter lands:

 GRESA

The soil is formed by sand and weathered granite. It is the terroir of the Olivardots estate, which has given its name to our first wine, providing it with elegance and great aromatic complexity.

BLACKBOARD

Located in the highest vineyard area of the Empordà, approximately 200m above sea level. It brings great minerality to its grapes.

ALUVIAL

It is located in the flattest area, center of the region, slightly sloping towards the southeast. It is land formed by alluvial deposits, rich in pebbles and with a silty texture, where the vineyards of white varieties extend.

ARENA

In this soil lies our 100-year-old Cariñena vineyard. Finesse, elegance, and delicacy in the wines produced.
