Prieto Pariente

Prieto Pariente

The essence of Bodegas Prieto Pariente is based on the practice of viticulture in our land and the expression of the terroir of Castilla y León through unique wines.

The brothers Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente – third generation of José Pariente Wineries (D.O. Rueda) – have traveled the region in search of the older and more unique vineyards, from the province of Valladolid crossed by the river Duero, up to the mineral slopes in the Gredos Mountain Range.
Their goal is to create wines with their own unique personality, that provide a distinguishing character, a profile of freshness and complexity.

THE SIERRA DE GREDOS

In the Sierra de Gredos they produce the monovarietal wine Confines de Prieto Pariente. The grapes come from two old vineyards of Garnacha located in Cebreros and San Bartolomé de Pinares, at more than 1000 meters above sea level and with soils of slate and granite.
They have chosen these two vineyards precisely for the difference in soils. The granite gives the wine verticality and elegance, while the slate shows minerality, volume, and opulence. The combination of both soils offers a complex and balanced wine, and the altitude favors the fresh fruit notes and adds a natural acidity to the wine.

THE PARAMOS OF VALLADOLID

The province of Valladolid contains a great diversity of viticulture; very old vineyards that are exemplars of ancestral viticulture, with low production and endowed with a special character.
For red wines, we work with grape varieties Tempranillo and Garnacha, from old vineyards with very low yield, located in the municipalities of Valladolid Mucientes, Pedrosa del Rey and Valbuena de Duero. Each parcel is vinified separately, allowing for the selection in the winery of the most suitable blend for each of the wines.
They also have a white wine of the variety Viognier, from The Dry.
